I've been a chef for 25 yrs and this is a first with seeing your blind baking. You don't need to use foil parchment paper is fine because your oven is hot. But you need to prick the base to allow the steam to leave and it will stop the base from rising.
Once your base is blind baked whip one egg white loosely then with a pastry brush coat the inside and base of the pie crust . Place in oven for 5 mins. The egg white will cause a barrier ensuring a perfect crisp base
Use egg yolk only to egg wash your crus. Dont need to add milk water or cream to thin out the wash
Just tap the the pie on the work top this will get rid of all the air pockets no need to add a hair dryer
I got a pumpkin instead of the puree. Should I handle it the same way?

My first time baking i followed along you. I didnt really care about looks or anything so i just made with cracks and bubbles. I told my family i made a surprise and i brought it in. They were amazed. We all were taking slices and my 6year old nephew took one bite and projectile vommited right on the rest of the pie. Atleast everyone but my dad got a slice but my dad ate some of mom and mine so yeah. Might make it in the future again if i feel like it.
