I’ve never given them this much thought, but for the last few days all I can think about is the Pancakes family. More specifically why you shouldn’t hate Eliza Pancakes.

Imma try steel Eliza away! She deserves better
The only time that I played with either of the Pancakes is for when I played the Black Widow challenge
Fun time, neither made it passed a week and their house was mine 🙂
I’m my imagination, Eliza may have been just raised with high standards or under the belief that a wife stays home and the husband works. She may have met Bob in high school and fell in love but once they moved in together they realized they weren’t so fit for each other. I think they may have gotten they’re nice home from Eliza’s family.
Thanks for this! Never understood why people hate Eliza so much. I actually like her.
I like Eliza, and be honest, I don't like Bob.
I can't image a woman like Eliza would merry to a man like Bob
slob, gloomy,in real life, they may broke up when they were lovers
Just like Bjorn Bjergsen, but Bjorn is better than Bob,at least he has good and Alluring
so I use the change traits portion force Bob and Bjorn drink it, and change traits to Proper and Romantic
and use special mod make them extremely attractive to each other(to Eliza and Clara)
Bob and Eliza have two kids, they have a happy marriage
I know is cheats, But I just can't see a normal women who has such husband, terrible
I honestly cannot blame Eliza or see her as a "problematic character", especially with lack of proper context. I grew up in a household, where the woman (my mother) was in charge of pretty much everything, despite my father being there. She would be disrespected and treated like a nuisance and a "nagging wife", both by him and his family, despite carrying everything on her shoulders. Should they have divorced? Absolutely. But you can't force someone into it. Years of this kind of life made my mom very frustrated and nagging, often hard to deal with. To people who don't know her or what she's been through, she may seem like this annoying Karen-esque woman at times – much like Eliza is presented in the trailers. Seeing people shit on Eliza and treat Bob like a poor mistreated victim by default is honestly quite painful.
I've never hated either of them. Eliza is one of my fave sims (to the point I made her a vampire so she's immortal). Both Eliza and Bob deserve to be happy and IMHO that's just not with each other.
I honestly just used a mccc (sorry if that's how it's not spelled) and I'm making them as strangers because I wanna start their relationship from the beginning I don't know why but I just want to do it. I'm also giving them a makeover since the save file I'm playing have them as a young couple so I guess you can say it's giving me a idea for them.
So I don't have to feel bad creating female OC and make Eliza leaves Bob for her – their marriage wasn't happy one anyway? 🙂
I dont know if character in sims have their own story, i just realize it today, my character named gerald married eliza bec when im poor i goin to be his boyfriend (my job is doing video) she always go to my apartment and clean all my stuff, thats why i love her and now im an global superstars with big mansion. And today i watch this video and think, oh my yeah im doing an right thing.
In my game, Eliza and Bob are happy because they married different people.
Now I don't feel bad for woohooing with Eliza and having her leave Bob to marry her
The pancakes are mean to my sims
I did an experiment in the Sims 4.
I did a cheat to make an already friend for Eliza.
Then I had Eliza, Bob, and the friend sit on the couches.
Then, I had Eliza flirt with her new friend.
Then, I lowered the couple's relationship and made them enemies.
I made them get into physical fights, about 10 times in two Sim hours.
Then I waited.
And waited.
And waited.
And then I decided to quit and do another save.
Why..?
Because…
My experiment was to see if you could push a married couple of Sims to the point that one divorced the other autonomously.
The answer?
No.
I do like Bob but I also like to repair their relationship for the better
I have to say the reason why Eliza's hated has less to do with her being a wife and more to do with her personality.
Don't get me wrong, they're both flawed but people just tend to side with the underdog and all his cons; Bob's flaws are less intrusive and judgemental. People will sympathize more with Bob's simple, laid back, submissive, passive, and exasperated traits than Eliza's superiority and social climbing traits
She's overbearing, snobby, pretentious, and high maintenance. The house is styled to her liking and she takes trips to places she likes. Meanwhile all bob really has is a single room and his own exasperation while he actually still follows Eliza. So in hindsight, Eliza seems to have things her way, except for bob's emotion which she can't control.
Basically, people aren't biased against Eliza because she's the wife. They're biased against her because of her traits
I still feel like men’s mental health is just not completely appreciated by the majority of people. I’ve always interpreted it as Bob having Depression (gloomy trait) – maybe his family owned an amazing bakery business (hence the name Pancakes) and it was booming – he was super happy and perhaps trusted people too much, meaning someone who he thought was his friend took over making Bob just a caterer. He resents cooking, making his skill drop to level 3. Since Eliza is materialistic, maybe Bob went down in her books. Her dreams of becoming an interior designer (making their home into a dream) was pretty much over since Bob wasn’t the one earning anymore. She quit her job as a painter to look after him – she’s into fitness and is more mentally healthy (going for runs, painting as a way to express emotions) maybe she pushes that onto Bob rather than actually try and understand what he’s going through. The more she does this the more Bob gets frustrated and down. Hence why the taking pictures part in the trailer – Eliza is trying to show Bob the amazing parts of life that he’s missing out on from being ‘depressed’ and that’s why he’s rolling his eyes because she doesn’t get it. So it’s sad on Eliza’s part who is the positive one trying to get Bob out of this dark place, but it’s also sad on Bob. I do think we have made progress in terms of sexist views towards women and sometimes we need to acknowledge that men struggle too – it’s just less hidden because of the fact we have placed so much on women’s rights (which is obviously important), but I think that’s why men’s struggles to get slipped under the rug. I don’t know, I’ve just never seen Eliza as the nagging stereotype. But hey that’s just my interpretation. 🙈
I love Eliza, she's honestly always been my first go-to base game spouse in this game but that's a little due to my hatred of Bob since he started flirting with my pregnant sim as soon as he met her, in front of her husband, causing said husband to die of anger. So I proceed to steal his wife and his autonomous reactions were real nasty. He got way more violent and abusive towards Eliza when he caught her cheating with my sim then I've EVER seen any other sim get with their cheating spouse, he slapped her twice then just full on fought her at least once a day for a full in game week (I had my sim constantly going over to visit them because I was kinda hoping I could kill Bob from anger but the git wouldn't snuff it.) This was was no mods whatsoever and it honestly scared me so from now on I get Eliza outta there as soon as possible.

I 100% agree with you. Eliza may be high strung because she has to live with such a slob. There is nothing wrong with being neat and having high aspirations. And again agree that historically society has made the husband the victim when we all know many
more women are victimized in a marriage, in some form or fashion, whether it’s physically or emotionally. Good analysis and I’m glad you brought this sexist portrayal to light.
I like this video but I still hate Eliza because no matter what goes on in her personal life it doesn’t give her the right to be rude and take her anger out on others
Your video about the pancakes is really interesting. Not boring at all. I quite like Eliza actually, although I haven't played with her or Bob. She was always my sim's bestfriend when I first started playing sims4.
Hi, so I’ve been thinking.. In the Update That let us place vacation homes in every world is something important about them hidden, for me at least.
There is a list of activities shown when you have already placed one down in the world of Willow Creek: it says "Visit the house of the pancakes"… Also there is a movie poster of Stay Weirder. So my story idea was that they have been casted as Bob and Eliza, since they only show a bad relationship in the trailer but not in the game. They life in a Renovated version of their house and it has the trait of a celebrity house. Bob and Eliza are both working in the actor/ress career and are famous.
It just didn’t make sense for me, that there was a poster of Bob (the least interesting sim) in someone’s home and why would you want to visit their house if they are not even famous.
In my mind this storyline makes so much more sense and also paves the way for Iggy because how would you try for a child when your romance is bad? It doesn’t work…
Yeah, so here I am, thanks for listening and thanks for sharing the same feelings about Eliza and Bob, I like them, but I am also a bit annoyed by Bob.
