Japanese candy is awesome, I love going into the local asian food store and looking through the interesting and very adventurous (compared to the USA) things they have, but I don't like cola flavored candy OR bubble gum flavored candy, so it kind of bums me out so many things have those flavorings. A lot of times though things are "melon" flavored, I like those. Also a lot of times "grape" flavored things aren't the "grape" flavoring they use in the USA which I like, I believe candy in the USA is trying to taste like concord grapes whereas the Japanese candy is another type.
Why does "sugar" scare people? In moderation, it's perfectly fine even bleached processed sugar won't hurt you in small doses. It's delicious just granulated, when mixed with flavors, or made into caramel.

The United States used to have candy cigarettes to. They were chalky. But I think they were more like really dry marshmallow. Kind of crappy. It was more fun to put them in a real pack of cigarettes and see if someone lights it.
