Thanks, I tried planting dragon fruit seeds after watching your video and they're looking great. I just have one question, how and when do I move the plants from the paper towels to soil without hurting the roots?
how often did you water the seedlings?
Dragon fruit baby plants can be grown within 7 to 8 days from seeds
please click the below link to see the full germination process of dragon fruits https://youtu.be/Ks89-2KgYco

My dragon fruit seed germinate without any problem. But none of them grow after germinate. Anyone knows why?
I started my seeds. Only a week to germinate, but then took forever to grow….must be missing something. mature plants grow fast.
I have a question. So Iโve been growing my dragon fruit for a little over a month now and itโs just a long stem with two leaves. When does the cactus part start growing?
The first half of your video , I saw you use something to hold the phone I would like to know what it is give a link where I can buy one
Thanks alot, this video was very helpful, i usually grow seeds in a napkin and for tiny seeds like these its a very smart idea of yours โบ๏ธโบ๏ธ
Iโm growing white and red(my fav) I leave them in water for 8-12 hours. Then I wet a paper towel , wrap the seeds, put it in a ziplock bag, zip it halfway and breathe out into the bag before fully zipping it up so it has some co2.
Iโve had success with so many different types of veggie seeds like this.
Do you cut the leaves?
I sowed the seeds of dragon fruit and now the saplings have come out. Now how do I plant the saplings in the ground(only same potting mix or add some normal garden soil)? The saplings are about 1 inch long now.
Sir please tell us how to take care of sapling.. means about climate n water.. etc ..
Even my seeds just sprout.. wat is my next step.. please reply sir
How i did my dragon fruit seedlings
Damp paper towel in a ziplock bag.
Picked out seeds from some dragonfruit
I did an experiment with the seedlings, whether they prefer to grow in a slice of their fruit or not.
They grew the same either way but removing the flesh first stopped mould(which didn't affect their growth at all, just smelled rank when i opened the ziplock)
Chuck the seeds in and they'll grow.
Somewhere really warm is fastest, but i live in Dunedin, we get cold winds and weather stuff from Antarctica sometimes and they still grew fine on my windowsill, these guys r pretty hardy.
I ended up with ~50 seedlings and had to give heaps away to friends.
When they are bigger they like…
-moist potting soil (NOT sandy cactus mix, they'll still grow fine, but it's way faster in potting mix, it'sa tropical plant after all, not a desert plant)
-high temperatures
-lots of water, I water mine every day
-lots of sun
This is what makes them grow fastest, i did forget about watering mine for a month and they survived but didn't grow. Really they are very hardy for people who tend to kill plants, i wouldn't trust them with frost or snow though…
But outside in a warmer climate they would be fine.
They are easy to germinate; but, beyond germination the survival rate is low. Mine mostly got root rot.
This was very helpful, thank you!
Would you say this is a decent plant for beginners? I'm relatively new to gardening and have always wanted to grow my own fruit. At the moment I only have a few succulents (mostly cacti and aloe) — I tried planting some fly traps this past Spring, but sadly only two seeds germinated and they died anyway. If Dragonfruit plants are too complex, is there any other fruit that you would recommend? I have a heat dome/portable greenhouse as well as a special plant light, in case that info helps!
