That watermelon was still underripe… maybe a week left on the vine would do it

More then likely you have aphids on the leaves & the birds are trying to eat them. If you see wasps in your garden , let them live because they will kill more pests then what bug killer could do. Wasps & bees will pollinate your flowering garden(watermelon, cantaloupe, cucumbers ect.) Sugar babies have male & female flowers(more male then female, usually 1 female flower to 7 male flowers per plant). Hope this info helps you & the best of luck to you & your family.
Hi…i planted some this year from seeds I had saved from last year's baby sugar watermelon but I think I messed up this year..😣I planted to many close together..they r growing nicely but not flowering or setting any fruit yet
I guess it's cuz they're too close together? Don't know exactly…so is it ok to save seeds to regrow again?thank you
How did you know to harvest it though? Size? Color? Sound? I have 2 on the vine and am very nervous but letting them over ripen after hearing they can get bitter. If that is even true..
You did a great job!👍😁🙏
Nice informative video thanks🌱
I had one alittle pink like that but they are still very good. I even had a white one lol it was there quite some time but not too long. I had a dark red I cut open few weeks ago and WOW never tasted anything like that.
Some birds are attracted to particular leaves especially when making a nest but you know as much as me lol I noticed that too but my cucumbers were nothing like yours. I was surprised how many people didn't k ow a cucumber was a melon or related to the watermelon/cantaloupe etc etc.. it's facinating!
I started mine in my house for the first month and transplanted all 5, they produce a crap load lol damn I had no idea but sugar babies really grow and grow, the more that is harvested the more grow, pretty beat honestly
I am growing Sugar Baby watermelon for the first time ever. I have never grown watermelon before. Here in WV I didn't think I would have much luck, but this year we have had an extremely hot and very dry Summer. I have 10 growing at the present time. I have been watching many videos to learn when they are ready to harvest. It looks like one should be ready in a week. I check them daily. This is extremely exciting. Thank you for your video….it was very helpful.
2 to 3 tablespoons of Epsom Salt 1/4 neem oil to 2 to 3 gallons of water. I apply with sprayer directly to leaves/plant every 2 to 3 weeks.
Your cucumber has a fungal infection called Anthracnose. I spotted it immediately because mine have it too:(
Damn auto correct!
Sorry, "Neem" oil!
I use a spray of need oil and Epsom salt diluted about every 3 -4 weeks, no holes, very few bugs and the birds dont like it but my green plants do!
Thanks for sharing your triumphs as well as your mistakes. Very helpful The birds are probably finding bugs on those cucumber leaves.
How many melons did you get from your plant…I have one now for harvesting, and three new ones coming up
You can pickle the watermelon rinds too.
Which branch
Nice I just bought some seeds can’t wait to taste myself thanks new to the channel
Gonna grow these babies this year in my greenhouse! Really looking forward to it, I hope they turn out as beautiful as yours!
Trying to grow them right now in AZ for the first time. Hope they turn out as good as yours.
I started cucumbers last week for the first time. I only have a couple leaves so far but they look just as damaged as yours. I’m thinking it might be the sun. I clicked this video because I started sugar baby seeds last week and will be transplanting them to the garden next week. Thanks for the info
👏👏 Wow! I'm waiting to harvest my sugar babies 😊 greetings from Chile
How did you know when to pick it though. I have a few slightly larger but was still white inside
Melon doesn't look ready yet! Birds, if that is what they are doing, are eating bugs on the leaves, especially the underside. Spray them with peppermint oil, especially the bottom of the leaves. I grow pickle cucumber plants in both shade and bright sun. Really hot sun is hard on them, but I am not convinced one is better than the other. Generally speaking, too much hot sun in a day is hard on all the plants, especially tomato plants.
Excellent harvest video my friend, growing those here in the garden now! Congratulations on successfully growing your sugar baby watermelons!
Bird is probably eating bugs off of it.
Thank you for sharing and my mouth watered just watching you I love watermelons.
As your watermelons start to grow put them in a knee high stalking or use an old towel to cradle them as the get bigger. Tie them off to the trellis as to not put weights on the vine.
I have never thought to plant cucumbers in a hanging pot. I might get that a try in the birds could be eating worms off of your cucumbers. Those green worms like to eat on a leaves. That's why I'm trying to invite Birds into my garden. Everything looks really good. You have a new subscriber here from me.
I am so far behind on videos right now, but glad I caught this one. That looks like a really good melon. The birds may just be choosing that as a hangout spot and clearing it a bit. Feeding them in the area of the yard you don't mind them as much might help move them or blocking their access there somehow, but can see how both of those options could have drawback as well. Thanks for the share!
Yum! That melon looks perfect!!👍🏻💚🌱
Loved it! It looked so cute! It sounds exquisite! Great job guys! 😊
