Do you really need to chill cookie dough?
Today on Passion for Food we’re going to test if chilling cookie dough before baking really makes a difference, do you really need to chill your cookie dough? I’m going to cook 3 batches of 3 different kinds of cookies, each batch I will bake half right away and the second half after chilling. What will we find out?! For the ingredients and more:

Quick note if you use unsalted butter you will want to add about 1/2 teaspoon of salt to the cookie dough!
my fridge stopped working and I wanted to make cookie today but I didn't know what to do whether it would make a difference or no, freezing the cookie or not freezing it, I was very unsure whether to cook it without freezing it but this video showed me it's okay to not freeze
How much vanilla extract did u put in the first cookie dough?
I just made some sugar cookie dough (first time making cookies from scratch) which led me to this video lol; I wanted to know WHY you needed to chill the dough……I'll bbl to edit my comment for how they turned out
Because you have to cook meat you donโt bake meat
Wow!This blew me away!I can't tell you all the time I've wasted on chilling cookies and waiting for butter to soften!Thank You!It's a great discovery!Best baking Hacks I've ever heard!!!๐๐ฅ๐๐ฅ๐๐ฅ๐๐๐๐๐
Nice cookies, your voice sounds like a game show host.lol nice
For a second i get confused this is a computer voice ๐ very helpful video though chef
Does they taste the same? Last time when I was baking cookies I have to keep half of the dough in the fridge since I have tuition or something. Then, after using the chilled dough the cookies taste better because the sugar completely dissolves (since I use granulated sugar) I think
Is sifting flour unnecessary? I really hate sifting the flour because it takes so long.
That about taste and texture?
We love these experiments!! Thank you for sharing… You should consider doing more of these
Wow friend I like that…chill cookie dough…
I'm doing a 5 ingredient choco chip peanut butter cookie no flour in the dough, turns out uncooked. So I guess chilling it will help? The peanut butter is too greasy ๐
Perfect
At my altitude, above 5280', I hold steady and true that chilling the cookie dough after initial sheet layout DOES allow for a slightly flufflier cookie. I use airbake/insulated baking sheets n parchment paper for never-burnt cookies.
PS, I fry my bacon!๐ฅ
Chilling does not affect the taste either?
The way this guy talks is the same way you'd talk about a failed marriage
What about the texture? Is one more chewy/ crispy than the other?
This was interesting! I do wonder though what it'd be like if you chilled it for a longer time than 1 hr, like if the effect would be more pronounced or not. I've heard that 24+hrs makes a pretty noticeable difference but I haven't done any tests myself as of yet
Yummilicious dessert, just in love with your recipe, because it's made with love
Wow ๐ฎ ๐ฎ epic sharing of ๐ช ๐ช
I feel like chilling it makes it a little easier to work with since it firms it up a bit. Could be my imagination.

Very cool experiment. Never thought of trying melted butter. Either way they all look good and I bet are very tasty. Good riddles at the end too. Hadn't thought about the driveway and parkway…definitely made me laugh ๐๐ You got my thumbs up.
