I miss the techno music in the vids haha, makes me remember back in the day
Pretty cool they can be brushed off like that. When I harvest prickly pear, I take a little propane torch to it for few seconds to burn off the thorns. I didn't expect the dragon fruit thorns to brush off so easily. Cool, quick vid.
I love watching the older videos you made, really gives me a massive understanding from where you started from. Well done mate
Thankyou. I have 3 plants starting to fruit, and found the spines penetrate my leather welding gloves. Saved a trip to the dump
Sir, please let me know the red and white dragon fruits also having thorns and plant leaves also having thorns
the electronic music is really irritating on this video, but the demo is nice
this video is epic..love the music kicking in at the end.
What month do they bud and how long after for fruit to ripen?
Cheers mate
Cool
Yep, just brush them off – very easy. Cheers, Mark 🙂
Yes true – good point!
Wow!!! A brush can do all the work!!?? That's so cool!
The pink skinned dragon fruit dose not produces any thorns on it's fruit.
Only the yellow skinned one does.
The yellow dragon fruit seems to grow well enough in our subtropical climate (here in Brisbane) but you're right they are smaller than the red. I like all the varieties!
The yellow dragon fruit is really small sizes compare with red meat and white meat dragon fruit. We try to grow yellow in our farm but the yellow seem not suitable to Vietnam climate. it is very low production.
Yeah, they are good aren't they 🙂 Ours are flowering well again this season we should get around 30. Some people say they are a bland fruit but ours taste great!
Thanks,
Its been raining so i will just have to deal with it. It has 6 after all. I'll do an update video in a bit.
G'Day, good news about your DF budding. I would definately continue to water as normal but keep in mind the plant is a cactus and as such does not like to be over-watered – but I wouldn't under-water either just because it has budded or flowered. I hope the flowers develop nicely for you – it really is an amazing spectacle!
Hi,
I just noticed about 4 sprouts for potrntial flowers. I say flowers because these look yellowish not like when it grows limbs. My first flowers 🙂 Do I continue to water normally? I thought i read somewhere not to water while its flowering. Help please.
Thanks
I have a video of my yellow cutting growing. I cant wait until it fruits.
Hi, possibly a few years before flowering, but I have had them flower sooner and even in a pot only after 12 months. They do grow quite fast!
